Project Description
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME's) in South Africa are currently faced with issues of limited market visibility, insufficient bargaining power and a lack of adoption of digital technologies and capabilities. BizzHub Connects aims to create a digital solution that aims to solves all these problems in 1 centralized platform.
Approach
A Design-Thinking approach was taken throughout this project. (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test) A user-centric approach that involved our end users (both SMEs and their potential customers) as much in the process of building this product as possible. From user interviews to usability testing. This ensures that we build a product that is best suited for the user.
Project Findings
We found that users preferred a product that had less clutter and was simpler to use. This goes from the interface itself, to the colours that were used. Clients also suggested a 'Communities' section where an SME owner could reach out and collaborate with other SMEs.
Lessons Learnt
The importance of collaboration- Not only with the team, but users as well. A lot of iterations were made in oreder to create a product that we felt our users would appreciate.
Have less ambiguity- Make sure things are clearly labelled, provide descriptions where needed and have consistency with regards to design elements like buttons.
Pay attention to detail- Users won't always be able to communicate their thoughts and feelings properly, so look for other visual cues like facial expression, vocal fluctuation and body language.
